Follow up sessions
The aim of each follow up session is to further reduce your symptoms and reduce flare ups. Reduce the impact symptoms have on you if they do happen to bubble up. And to provide greater depth and understanding of your case. Flare ups are inevitable in recovery. How we manage these is essential. I will guide you through your recovery and you will have my full support during this process. You will not go through this by yourself. I am here to help you.
All follow up sessions will last approximately 70 minutes. At each follow up session I will assess and progress your recovery program. We will openly discuss your progress so far. Your self care program will be reviewed, adapted and modified where necessary. We will identify new targets and new goals. I will ensure these goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Target focused. It is essential we work together to ensure you reach the next landmark in your recovery. Managing and reducing symptoms. I will track your progress throughout the entire process using the following clinical outcome measures – GAD7 form (generalised anxiety disorder), PCS-EN (patient catastrophisation scale), NIH-CPSI (National Institute of Health Chronic Prostatitis Score Index) and the PSEQ (pain self efficacy questionnaire).
I will always encourage independence in recovery. I do not like patients solely relying on me for their recovery. If a patient only feels they make progress whilst in my clinic room this is not empowering. It does not create autonomy and it does not create self trust or robustness. My aim is to increase self confidence. I want you to feel confident in your own recovery. With this in mind I typically sees patients every 4 weeks for follow up sessions. Each follow up session builds on the previous one, creating a naturally flowing and progressive recovery. In between sessions I provide full email support to ensure you are moving forwards and feel completely at ease with the revised plan. Often in between sessions you may find you have questions or concerns around your condition, your programme and these are easily addressed through this ongoing support
